GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - LSU Eunice jumped out early and never relinquished control in a 14-7 victory over Wabash Valley in game 11 of the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series.
LSU Eunice (47-12, 1-1 JUCO) plated two runs in the first inning behind RBI doubles from Marshall Louque and Milan Obradovich, then added solo home runs from Jordan Luna and Caleb Hastings to maintain a narrow lead through the middle innings.
Wabash Valley (44-22, 1-2 JUCO) stayed within striking distance, tying the game at 4-4 in the fourth inning and continuing to pressure offensively with timely hits from Leandro Hernandez and Cameron Dube. However, LSU Eunice responded with a decisive three-run sixth inning, highlighted by Louque’s three-run homer that gave the Bengals breathing room at 7-4.
The game broke open in the eighth inning when LSU Eunice erupted for seven runs. Mason Bordelon delivered the biggest blow with a grand slam to left field, while Andrew Clapinski later added a two-run single to cap the rally. Louque finished with five RBIs, Bordelon drove in four, and Luna reached base four times, including a solo homer.
Wabash Valley showed late fight with a two-run homer from Enrico Veach in the eighth, but LSU Eunice closed the door in the ninth to secure the 14-7 win.
