GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Blinn powered past Wabash Valley, 10-2, in game eight of the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series behind three home runs and a late offensive explosion.
Jacob Bohacek gave Blinn (46-12, 2-0 JUCO) an early lead with a solo homer in the first, and the Buccaneers pulled away with two runs in the fourth after a Wabash Valley (42-21, 1-1 JUCO) error extended the inning. The Warriors answered in the fifth with a solo home run from Cameron Dube and an RBI groundout by Brady Schallmoser to cut the deficit to 3-2.
Blinn responded immediately as Ryley Leininger launched a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth. The Buccaneers then broke the game open in the sixth when Dane Perry hit a three-run shot to cap a four-run inning and extend the lead to 10-2.
Leininger finished with four RBIs, while Bohacek added a homer and double. Dube homered for Wabash Valley, and Bryce Adams collected two hits in the loss.
