GRAND JUCTION, Colo. - Harford used a big early outburst to build a lead and held off a late Seminole rally to take a 13-11 in game 6 of the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series.
After a scoreless first, Harford (54-7, 1-1 JUCO) erupted for three in the second highlighted by Danny Scullion’s three-run homer and added four more in the third on timely extra-base hits from James Asmus and Jack Fitzpatrick. Harford tacked on runs in the 4th, 5th and 6th to lead 11-2 before Seminole State (48-14, 0-2 JUCO) mounted a comeback.
Bennett Crafton ignited Seminole’s rally with a two-run homer in the sixth and added a triple later; Brayden Harpole’s three-run blast in the ninth pulled Seminole within two after a wild-pitch sequence that produced two unearned runs. Derek Poole delivered insurance with a two-run double in the top of the ninth, and Harford held on for a 13-11 victory.
