GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Blinn capitalized on Miami Dade’s defensive miscues and timely hitting to secure a 12-2 victory in game 16 of the Alpine Bank Junior College World Series.

Miami Dade (39-20-1, 2-2 JUCO) struck first in the second inning when William Polanco scored on a pair of Blinn errors, but Blinn (48-13, 4-1 JUCO) responded with a five-run bottom half highlighted by a three-run double from Hunter Smolinski. Drew Britton later added an RBI single as the Buccaneers built a 5-1 advantage.

Miami Dade trimmed the deficit to 5-2 in the fourth on an RBI single from Polanco, but Blinn pulled away with a five-run fifth inning. Zachary Tuxhorn delivered an RBI double, Reece Lunsford added a two-run double, and Smolinski capped the rally with a two-run single.

Blinn added two more runs in the sixth on a two-run homer from Ryley Leininger to close out the scoring. Smolinski finished with five RBIs, while Lunsford drove in two and Tuxhorn collected two hits and an RBI.
