The Reivers are back for the second straight year and fifth time in six years. They battled #1 Wabash Valley in a winner-take all game for the Northern District Championship. This is the 19th trip to the World Series for Iowa Western, winning three times in 2010, 2012, and 2014.
Jaden Rolffs is hitting .476 with 64 RBI and 12 home runs. Rolffs ranks sixth in the nation in batting percentage. Cooper Bowman is hitting .421 and is 26 of 29 in stolen bases. Caleb Balgaard, a sophomore, is hitting .420 with 66 RBI. Ronald Sweeny III is tied for 15th in the country in home runs with 15. They are third in batting average (.361), slugging percentage (.593) and fourth in on base percentage (.361).
Closer Trystan Kimmel has the low ERA at 1.20. He is 1-1 and has earned 17 saves in 24 appearances. He ranks number one in the nation in saves. Braedyn McLaughlin and Jared Simpson each have ERA’s under two. McLaughlin has a 1.84 ERA with 99 strikeouts. Simpson is 7-0 with 64 strikeouts and a 1.95 ERA.
