The Temple Leopards (35-23) are making their third appearance in Grand Junction.  The Cougars finished third in the Southwestern District but was awarded the berth when the two teams in the championship were disqualified. Temple hits .321 from the plate and averages 6.7 runs per game.  From the mound, the pitching staff has a 4.78 ERA.
 
Breck Potvin, freshman second baseman, leads the team with a .360 batting average.  Potvin is also quick on the base path with 21 stolen bases. Sophomore shortstop Joey Orsak hits .353 with a team leading 10 home runs.  Jordan Monacy, sophomore first baseman, also hits .353 with 10 home runs and a team leading 49 runs batted in.
 
Freshman Jesse Reed is third in the nation in saves with 10.  He is 5-2 in 23 appearances and has a 2.95 ERA.  Sophomore Cody Wolf is 10-4 in 16 starts and has a 3.29 ERA.  Wolf leads the team in strikeouts with 94.  Nick Mendivil (4-1) has the best ERA on the team with a 2.41.  Mendivil has appeared in 18 games, throwing 33.2 innings and has 24 strikeouts.
