#ROADTOGRANDJUNCTION:
The Barton Cougars (47-13) bounced back from an early loss in the Region VI/Central District Championship game, to top Cowley (KS) twice in earning their first ever trip to Grand Junction.
 
Brett Bonar is the heavy stick for the Cougars, hitting .413 with 67 runs batted in and 11 home runs.  Those numbers all lead the team.  Kaden Fowler is hitting a few points behind him at .407.  Fowler has 63 runs batted in and 11 home runs as well.  Brett Erickson is quick on his feet, leading the team in stolen bases with 12. 
 
From the hill, Josh Hendrickson carries a 2.17 ERA in 15 appearances.  He has started all 15 of those with an 11-2 record, 120 strikeouts and only 17 walks.  Hendrickson’s 120 strikeouts is fourth in the nation.  Zach Curry has 71 innings of work and is a perfect 7-0 in 12 starts.  Curry has struck out 68 batters on the season.
