GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Central Florida swung the bat well, topping Andrew 12-0 in game two of the Alpine Bank Junior College Baseball World Series.
Central Florida (52-6, 1-0 JUCO) wasted no time getting on the board as Kareh Valentin hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning. In the third, the Patriots would hit another three-run home run, this time by Kainen Jorge.
In the fourth inning, Central Florida added six runs on four hits in the inning. Michael Guilliams, who hit twice in the inning, plated an RBI off a solo home run early in the frame and a sacrifice fly later on, scoring John Marant.
Andrew (GA) (34-23, 0-1 JUCO) struggled to get on base, only picking up a pair of hits on the game. Patriot pitcher Brian Holiday struck out 14 in the five-inning contest.
Central Florida advances to play Weatherford (TX) in game 10 on Monday at 6:00pm. Andrew will play Delgado (LA) in game 6, an elimination game, Sunday at 2:00pm.
