NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association Coaches Hall of Fame
Wheat pitched 10 years in the major leagues for the Cleveland Indians and the Philadelphia Athletics. He coached at Broward (Florida) CC for 13 years & served two terms as President of NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association and Conference Commissioner in Florida. Wheat has coached amateur teams in international competition and served several years as pitching coach of semi-pro Grand Junction Eagles baseball team.
