Butler’s McLennan Community College, Waco, Texas, competed in four consecutive JUCO tourneys in 1980 – 1983, winning the championship in 1983. His overall record is 624-308. Butler was the ABCC District Coach of the Year in 1979 through 1983, and NJCAA and ABCA Coach of the Year in 1983. Seventeen of Butler’s players were all Americans, several of whom had major league careers.
