NJCAA Baseball Coaches Association Coaches Hall of Fame
Upon retirement in 2002, Smith served 36 years as the only head baseball coach. Using a roster almost exclusively of Illinois players, Smith amassed 847 wins, captured six conference championships and one Great Rivers Athletic Assoc title in 1988. Completed in 1999, Kaskaskia’s ‘Larry Smith Field’ is a top facility–his No. 3 jersey was retired in 2003. Smith is also a member of the Illinois Baseball Coaches Assoc. Illinois Teachers Assoc, Kaskaskia College & Centralia Sports Hall of Fame.
