Little took the Potomac State Catamounts to the Division II World Series in 1993 and 1994, where they finished second.
In 1995, Little left Potomac State to West Virginia as an assistant, returning to Potomac in 2000 as the head coach and athletic director. Potomac moved up to NJCAA Division I, with the Catamounts reaching the JUCO World Series in 2004, the first of three straight appearances, with a fourth trip in 2011.
Little was an outfielder at Alderson Broaddus, earning all-conference honors twice, and received his bachelor's and masters degrees at Eastern Kentucky.
