Davis won four Division III national championships in an 11-year span at Rowan Gloucester (formerly Gloucester County), which left the NJCAA level after the 2000 season. He went 434-101 at the junior college level.

Gloucester won the inaugural Division III World Series in 1992, then won it again in 1993, with back-to-back titles also coming in 1999 and 2000.

He was on the junior college national coaching staff twice, including 1999, when the NJCAA squad defeated Team Canada. After Gloucester left the NJCAA, Davis went to Georgia Southwestern State (NAIA) and for the past 12 years has been the head coach at Division I Rider University.
