In 29 years of coaching at Eastern Florida State – formerly known as Brevard – Ernie Rosseau built the Titans baseball team into one of the nation’s top programs. Compiling 745 wins in under three decades, Rosseau currently stands as the 70th-winningest coach all-time in the history of NJCAA baseball.

A former player at Eastern Florida State, Rosseau took over the reins from his former coach Jack Kenworthy in 1980. After going 9-28 in his first year at the helm, it didn’t take Rosseau long to put the program in national contention as the Titans went 39-5 in his third season. Eastern Florida State made two trips to the NJCAA World Series under Rosseau in 1986 and 1989.

Following the conclusion of his playing days at Eastern Florida State, Rosseau transferred to South Alabama in 1971 for the remainder of his collegiate career. Rosseau’s dreams of playing in the big leagues came true in the 1973 MLB Draft when we was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals. Despite earning Florida State League Player of the Year honors, Rosseau’s professional playing career concluded at the Class AA level but he still has the $5 check sent to him by Topps for the rights to his picture on their cards.
